Watersavers Irrigation, an irrigation and landscape product distributor, is a successful and growing company who has been in business for over 20 years. We are looking for outside sales professionals to help support our six Bay Area locations. Two years outside sales experience is preferred but not required.
 
We have a very well-established customer base of contractors and other professional installers; however, our goal is to increase our share of the market significantly. This is an opportunity for an effective, motivated, and organized sales professional to expand our current customer base, develop new customer relationships, and become a key part of the Watersavers’ family. Our branches offer full inventories and same day delivery giving us a strong competitive advantage. In addition, we have an aggressive marketing campaign underway for this year to support your selling effort.

Summary of Job:
The Salesperson helps the General Manager maintain strong relationships with existing customers and in developing new customer relationships. The salesperson works toward increasing the company’s gross sales and attaining targeted gross profit.
 
Responsibilities:
Support the General Manager and Store Managers in achieving the following:
b1 Contact all Watersavers Irrigation customers at least one time per quarter.
b1 Provide weekly written reports of progress to the General Manager.
b1 Communicate effectively and professionally with all company personnel.
b1 Properly follow-up on all leads provided by Watersavers’ employees.
b1 Maintain Watersavers’ reputation for integrity, quality products, and outstanding customer service.
b1 Contact contractors between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and also during the early evening hours. In our industry, many contractors have home-based businesses and are often most easily accessible during these hours.
b1 Stay updated on our computer system; discount procedures, profit management, and customer histories for your sales area.
b1 Organize and promote special customer events (fishing trips, golf events, seminars, etc.).
b1 Attend all management meetings in order to report on the status of current jobs and future projects.
 
Education and Skills Required:
b1 College degree or equivalent job experience.
b1 Sales experience in a relevant wholesale industry preferably in irrigation, plumbing, or landscape supply.
b1 General business math skills.
b1 Good computer knowledge.
b1 Accurate, high-level performance under pressure.
